Role Tea co-founder Mike Johnson relocated from Ohio to the DC Metro area in 2014, two years before launching Role Tea. Since launching Role Tea's in the DC Metro area, many of Johnson's friends and family back in Columbus, Ohio asked for Role Tea to be sold in the Buckeye state. We've obliged! Role Tea is now sold in two select local, independently owned natural food stores in Columbus, Ohio. Both Oats and Barley in the Short North and It's All Natural in Gahanna now stock all three blends of Role Tea.
"Role Tea will continue to focus on developing the DC Metro market as our primary focus." Johnson stated. "But when family and friends call, you answer". On a recent visit to Columbus to visit friends and family, he approached several natural food locations about carrying the product. "All of the locations expressed interest in the product and we expect several other locations to pick up the product in the coming weeks as well" Johnson added. Both Johnson and Koray Benson, Role Tea's second co-founder have spent large stretches in the Midwest. "The more we've thought about bringing Role Tea to select locations in the Midwest, the more it makes sense. We have ties to the Midwest and it gives us an opportunity to test the concept in markets very different than DC." Benson stated. Benson is taking a similar approach testing Role Tea in select stores in the Louisville, Kentucky region as well.
Role Tea hit the shelves of both stores this week and are listed for $2.99 per bottle.
